Good News

I got approved for the CCS (Comprehensive Community Services) program! My meeting with the coordinator went very well, she said that in the next week or so someone will be coming over to get the paperwork signed, and about a week after that my "treatment team" will be coming to my apartment to help me set up ways to meet my first goals.

To begin with I am going to be a part of the peer support program, where someone will come over to talk with me or to take me out into the community for coffee or a movie or to go to the bookstore or whatever else I'd like to do. I think this will be a great beginning and I will be able to work on overcoming some of my anxiety about leaving my apartment. I'm really looking forward to getting started on my new journey towards a more fulfilling life.

Now that my meds are working fairly well, my moods have been more stable, I've been sleeping better most nights, and my anxiety when at home is fairly low. It's time to take the next step and work on improving my life in any way that I can. I can't just sit around my apartment all the time getting bored without risking falling backwards into depression. Bipolar cannot be "conquered" or "fixed" but it can be managed and I believe that I can have more in my life than I have right now.

I know that I might have setbacks and I hope that I can push through them and continue on. Sometimes we take a few steps back but that doesn't mean we should stop trying to move forward.

  1. I belive in you, Jen. This verse is for you.

If we can but see the light of day
We will stand in the violent storm
We will raise our face to the sky
We will laugh, and we will cry
If we can but see the sun and be warm
If we can but sing for one more day

  3. I will let you know when I have it up, Jenni. I have been formatting the notes on my facebook to reflect what info I want to blog. I'm also attempting to write at least one new thing every day. I hope it lasts.
We need to get you some more members though. Your writing is too good to share with just me. I am flattered though. In reading your essays you articulate thought's I'm usually only able to express abstractly.
